MISS SAN ANTONIO USA & MISS SAN ANTONIO TEEN USA pageants are independently produced by Diverse Dreams, L.L.C., and are official preliminaries to MISS TEXAS USA7 and MISS TEXAS TEEN USA7 pageants.  MISS TEXAS USA7 and MISS TEXAS TEEN USA7 pageants are independently produced by The Crystal Group, Inc., and are official preliminaries to MISS USA7, MISS UNIVERSE7 and MISS TEEN USA7 pageants.  NBC Inc. and Miss Universe L.P., LLLP produce MISS USA7, MISS UNIVERSE7 and MISS TEEN USA7 pageants.  Miss Universe L.P., LLLP is owned by Donald Trump and NBC.

There are three categories of competition: Interview, Physical Fitness in Swimsuit, and Evening Gown.  The judging is based on poise, intelligence, personality, and beauty.  There is no talent competition and no experience is necessary.  Approximately 80% of the contestants have never entered a pageant before.
 
A limited amount of free pageant training sessions is offered to all San Antonio pageant delegates.

Delegates are required to pay an entry fee which includes at least one advertisement for the keepsake Program Book.  Counties included in the San Antonio pageant area are Bexar, Atascosa, Bandera, Comal, Frio, Gillespie, Guadalupe, Kendall, Kerr, Medina, and Wilson counties. 

MISS SAN ANTONIO USA and MISS SAN ANTONIO TEEN USA receive a wonderful prize package, which includes scholastic scholarships and their entry fees to the MISS TEXAS USA and MISS TEXAS TEEN USA pageants.  Additional awards in the Miss and Teen divisions are presented as:  The Peoples Choice Award, Miss Photogenic, Best On stage Smile, Best in Swimsuit, Best in Evening Gown and Miss Congeniality

The San Antonio area has produced a number of quality contestants vying for the title of MISS TEXAS USA and MISS TEXAS TEEN USA.  Miss San Antonio USA 1997, Holly Mills, went on to win the Miss Texas USA 1998 title as well as place in the top five at the MISS USA 1998 pageant.  Under Diverse Dreams, L.L.C., Miss San Antonio USA 1999, Vanessa Cedotal, was 2nd runner-up at the 2000 state pageant.  Miss Hemisfair City USA 1999, Bridget Richard, was a Top 12 semifinalist at the 2000 state pageant.   Miss San Antonio USA 2002, Katie Zawora, was a Top 12 semifinalist at the 2003 state pageant and received the >Most Beautiful Eyes= award at the 2004 state pageant.  Miss Alamo City USA 2003, Cassandra Meyer, was a Top 16 semifinalist at the 2004 state pageant.  Miss San Antonio USA 2004, Cassandra Meyer, was 1st runner-up at the 2005 state pageant. Miss Aggieland USA, Elizabeth Jones and Miss Medina County USA, Frenchellen Gilliam were both Top 20 finalist in the 2005 state pageant.  Miss South Central Texas 2005, Cassandra Meyer, was 3rd runner-up and the Swimsuit winner at the 2006 state pageant.  Miss South Texas Plains 2006, Cassandra Meyer and Miss San Antonio USA 2006, Valerie Pro were both Top 16 finalists at the 2007 state pageant.  Miss New Braunfels Teen USA 2006, Jasmin Hernandez was the ‘Peoples Choice’ Winner at the 2007 teen state pageant.
